![]() My hot take differs a little bit from yours- the Homunculi you mentioned are defeated or die when they have realized they don't live up to their names.I'm not sure Pride had that same realization, at least not to the same extent. Great topic and breakdown of your interpretation! I always enjoy examining the Kimblee and Pride interactions we get because they're two cool characters who are loaded with symbolism. As the Kimblee walks back into the stream, in sheer disappointment in Pride. and at that moment Edward reverses the process and instead invades Pride's body. And Pride realizes that, the horrifying truth. But now Kimblee is disgusted by Pride's cowardliness, as the he breaks the only thing he believed in. Kimblee despite being captured by Pride, still looked up to Pride out of respect. He always had his pride and at this moment he abandons it. But instead of the defeat, by this desperate action he accepts that he isn't the best, he isn't the perfection. And in a way cheating his way through, instead of accepting a noble defeat. But just like with Greed and Envy, his defeat comes as his realization that he was wrong.īy translocating himself into the Edward's body, he expresses desperation. He always had this idea, and often expressed it in his speech. ![]() He is the first homunculus, the smartest homunculus, the strongest homunculus. Pride, as the name suggests thinks of himself highly. So I wanted to know if the way I saw it was correct. There are multiple interpretations you can make out of his speech. Kimblee in that moment points out the Pride's shortcoming. But as he does that, Kimblee walks out of the stream of souls fairly unaffected by the madness and suffering, just how he likes it to be. And in his last ditch effort attempts to translocate himself into the Edward's body. ![]() But one them that striked me the most was the Pride's death. The most notable ones being Envy and Greed. While remembering the moments from the series, I was thinking of how most homunculus died by their sin being defeated. So I've just completed the entire Fullmetal Alchemist manga series.
